Medical assistance

First aid and medical services are available 24 hours a day for both passengers and the general public. Services include personalised medical advice, first aid, vaccinations, malaria tablets, up-to-date information on health status, travel items.

There are two medical clinics at Schiphol, both open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm: one located in the public area of Departures Hall 2, above check-in line 16; the other in the secure area of Departures Hall 2.


In Departures Hall 2, you will find a pharmacy open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is conveniently located next to one of the airport's medical clinics, in case you need a prescription for your medication. Not only prescription drugs are available, but also all kinds of over-the-counter medicines, such as painkillers, remedies for colds, allergies and insect bites, tailored for Schiphol passengers and employees.

Schiphol's workstations are compact desks equipped with power sockets and are ideal for those travelling with their own laptop, who can also make use of the airport's free Wi-Fi network.

They are located in all Departures Halls and Piers C and D.

Spaces Lounge: flexible office space located in the public area above Departures Hall 1. It offers wonderful views of the terrace and is conveniently located next to the 'Panorama' restaurant. Facilities include six fully equipped work areas and four meeting rooms. No membership is required, but there is a charge for use.

Meetings near Schiphol:

Here are some places to meet that are just a few minutes' walk from the airport:
- WTC Schiphol, a few steps from Schiphol Plaza towards car park P1, with a public work area.
- The Base, a little further away from the terminal, in the heart of Schiphol's central business district.

Porter service

This service is available 24 hours a day, whether you are arriving or departing Schiphol.

Airport porters can help you with your luggage from the taxi rank, bus station, train station or 'Kiss & Ride' area to the check-in desks and Departures Halls. Or from the baggage reclaim hall to the terminal exit if you land at Schiphol. Extra assistance is also available for travellers with reduced mobility. Minimum fare of €15.00.

If you follow the signs to the first aid clinic from lounge 2 or Holland Boulevard, you will find shower cubicles in the EF Filter. They are available 24 hours a day and are free of charge. Note that there are no towels or personal cleaning items, so you will need to bring your own.

Showers are also available at the YOTELAIR and Mercure hotels within the airport grounds.

Located after the security checkpoint, on the upper level of Hall 2, on Piers D and E, next to the food court. It offers 2 shower cabins that you can rent for up to 45 minutes, at a cost of €17.50.

Mercure Hotel
Ask at the hotel reception, which is located after the security checkpoint, on the upper level of lounge 3, Piers F, G and H (opposite the KLM VIP lounge). Use of the shower costs €22.50, which includes a towel and toiletries.

Meet & Assist

The Meet & Assist service ensures a friendly and professional host, either at the aircraft door or with a personalised sign in the Departures or Arrivals Halls. They will also take care of luggage and guide people to where they need to go. More information


Travellers can get their hair cut at the En Vogue hairdresser at Schiphol Plaza.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Transfer desk

The staff at the transfer desk can:

- Issue a boarding pass for your next flight
- Change flight details
- Assist with missed or cancelled flights
- Obtain a completely new ticket

KLM travellers can also use the self-service machines. All instructions are displayed on screen.

SkyTeam member airlines' transfer desks are located in T2, T4, T5 and T6. All other airlines' transfer counters are located in T3, T5 and T9.

Baby Care Lounge

The Baby Care Lounge offers private spaces where you can bathe and feed your baby, and even let them sleep in one of the seven cabins with beds.

It is located on Holland Boulevard, between lounges 2 and 3, and is available from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Note: Lounges 2 and 3 are only accessible to passengers on intercontinental flights. Use of the lounge is free of charge.

Tax Refund

You can claim a tax refund on your purchases in the Netherlands. To do so, you must meet the following conditions:

- You live permanently outside the European Union
- Your purchases were at least €50.00 per shop on the same day
- You transport the goods outside the EU (unused) before the end of the third month after the month of purchase.

Global Blue and Planet & Innova Tax Refund are the tax refund services at Schiphol. Their offices are located in Departures Hall 3 and are open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
